The Transformation
Leucothea and her husband faced many hardships due to the wrath of the goddess Hera. Ino was driven mad and in a fit of madness, she killed her own children. Ino and her son Melicertes were then chased by her husband Athamas. As they leaped into the sea to escape, they were transformed into sea deities by the god Poseidon. Ino became
Leucothea and her son became the sea god Palamon.
